These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain the agreement between Piora Math, Inc. ("Piora Math," "we," or "us") and the parent, guardian, or educator who creates an account for a child to use our AI math practice tools, chat-based tutoring, curriculum content, guest assessments, dashboards, and paid subscription features (the "Services"). By creating an account, completing the one-time email or Google sign in, or starting the 7-day free trial you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
The Services are designed for families with learners in grades documented in the signup flow. Accounts must be created and managed by a parent, legal guardian, or authorized educator who is at least 18 years old. Because the experience involves children under 13, we comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by requiring the adult account holder to provide consent during the signup flow before any child data (such as first name, grade level, learning progress, or chat transcripts) is stored. You agree to (a) provide accurate parent/guardian contact information, (b) obtain any additional consents required by your jurisdiction, and (c) notify us immediately via privacy@pioramath.com if you learn that a child’s account was created without appropriate authorization so we can remove the data.
We use Supabase authentication to issue one-time passcodes (OTPs) via email and offer an optional Google sign-in. When you create an account we collect your name, email, the learner’s grade, and any assessment data tied to a guest_id so we can migrate the child’s progress into the full experience. You must keep login credentials secure, maintain accurate information, and promptly update us if an email account is compromised. We may send operational messages through Resend or Supabase email templates. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
Paid plans are processed by Stripe. When the 7-day free trial ends your default payment method will be charged unless you cancel within the trial window through the billing portal link provided after signup. We do not store full payment card numbers in our systems; Stripe processes that information on our behalf. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law. If a payment fails we may suspend access to premium content until the invoice is resolved. Taxes may apply depending on your location.
You agree not to (a) attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt the Services, (b) upload malicious code, (c) share answers that infringe others’ rights, (d) misrepresent a child’s age, or (e) use the product in ways that violate any law or school policy. Accounts may not be shared outside of the household or classroom seats you purchase. We may monitor usage through our FastAPI backend logs (Betterstack) and the user action logging endpoints exposed in /api/logs/frontend-action to detect abuse. Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination.
Piora Math combines curriculum graphs, assessments, and AI chat guidance powered by Anthropic Claude models (and other vetted large language models noted in the codebase) to recommend next steps. We strive for correctness but AI explanations may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate. The content is educational only and not a substitute for professional tutoring or individualized education plans. You are responsible for supervising your child’s use of the chat interface and reviewing any recommendations before acting on them.
By submitting feedback through the in-app form, sending chat messages, or uploading responses you grant Piora Math a worldwide, royalty-free license to use that content (including anonymized learning telemetry) to operate, troubleshoot, and improve the Services. We will never sell identifiable student data, and any public stories or marketing quotes will require your explicit permission.

Each provider may receive personal information solely to perform services on our behalf and according to our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, fail to pay, or put the platform or other learners at risk. You may cancel at any time by using the billing portal link or contacting us via privacy@pioramath.com or the in-app feedback form. After termination we may retain limited records needed for legal compliance and platform integrity, consistent with our Privacy Policy.
The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Piora Math disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted availability. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.
You agree to indemnify and hold Piora Math, its affiliates, and employees harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your misuse of the Services, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.
We may update these Terms to reflect new product capabilities (such as additional chat agents, analytics dashboards, or curriculum modules mentioned in the repository). Material changes will be posted here and, when appropriate, communicated via email or in-app notifications. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
